Gizmo was my first dog. A rescue that my family took from someone who wanted to euthanize him simply because they didn't want him and wanted to get another puppy. When I took him home with me, I was a freshman in high school and probably a little in over my head and overconfident. He wasn't an easy dog when he was young by any means, but he was smart.... and although he didn't even know how to sit when we first took him home (as a young adult) we learned a lot together, and rather quickly at that. He was my gateway into dogs and through him I got into dog training and started to think about dogs professionally. I owe a lot to him, and he will always have a very special place in my heart.
